क्योंकि तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा अनुग्रहकारी और दयालु है, और यदि तुम उसकी ओर फिरो, तो वह अपना मुख तुम से न मोड़ेगा। 10 इसलिए वे नगर-नगर से एप्रैम और मनश्शे के देश से होते हुए जबूलून तक पहुँचे: परन्तु वे उनका उपहास करते और उनका मज़ाक उड़ाते थे। 11 फिर भी आशेर, मनश्शे और जबूलून के बहुत-से लोग दीन होकर यरूशलेम में आए। 12 यहूदा में भी परमेश्वर का हाथ उन्हें राजा और हाकिमों की आज्ञा को यहोवा के वचन के अनुसार मानने के लिए एक मन देने के लिए था। 13 और दूसरे महीने में अखमीरी रोटी का पर्व मनाने के लिए यरूशलेम में बहुत से लोग इकट्ठे हुए, अर्थात् एक बहुत बड़ी मण्डली। 14 और वे उठे और यरूशलेम में जो वेदियाँ थीं, और धूप जलाने की सब वेदियाँ ले गए, और उन्हें किद्रोन नाले में फेंक दिया। 15 तब उन्होंने दूसरे महीने के चौदहवें दिन फसह का पशु बलि किया: और याजकों और लेवियों ने लज्जित होकर अपने को पवित्र किया, और होमबलि को यहोवा के भवन में ले आए। 16 और वे परमेश्वर के जन मूसा की व्यवस्था के अनुसार अपने अपने स्थान पर खड़े हुए: याजकों ने लेवियों के हाथ से जो लहू लिया, उसे छिड़का। 17 क्योंकि मण्डली में बहुत से ऐसे थे जो पवित्र नहीं थे: इसलिए लेवियों को हर एक अशुद्ध व्यक्ति के लिए फसह के पशु बलि करने का काम सौंपा गया, ताकि वे उसे यहोवा के लिये पवित्र करें। 18 क्योंकि लोगों में से बहुत से लोग, यहाँ तक कि एप्रैम, मनश्शे, इस्साकार और जबूलून के बहुत से लोग, अपने को शुद्ध नहीं कर पाए थे, फिर भी उन्होंने फसह का पशु उस रीति से खाया जैसा लिखा था वैसा नहीं था। परन्तु हिजकिय्याह ने उनके लिये यह प्रार्थना की, कि भले यहोवा उन सभों को क्षमा करे जो अपने मन को परमेश्वर अर्थात् अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर यहोवा की खोज में लगाए रखते हैं, चाहे वे पवित्रस्थान की शुद्धि के अनुसार शुद्ध न भी हुए हों। 20 और यहोवा ने हिजकिय्याह की बात मानकर लोगों को चंगा किया। 21 और यरूशलेम में उपस्थित इस्राएलियों ने अखमीरी रोटी का पर्व बड़ी खुशी से सात दिन तक मनाया; और लेवियों और याजकों ने यहोवा की स्तुति की, और दिन प्रतिदिन ऊंचे स्वर से बाजे बजाते हुए यहोवा के लिये गाते रहे। 22 और हिजकिय्याह ने उन सब लेवियों को जो यहोवा का अच्छा ज्ञान सिखाते थे, शान्ति दी; और उन्होंने पर्व के सात दिन तक भोजन किया, और मेलबलि चढ़ाए, और अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर यहोवा के सम्मुख अंगीकार किया। 23 और सारी मण्डली ने सम्मति की कि और सात दिन पर्व मनाए जाएं; और उन्होंने और सात दिन आनन्द से पर्व मनाया। 24 क्योंकि यहूदा के राजा हिजकिय्याह ने मण्डली को एक हजार बैल और सात हजार भेड़ें दीं; और हाकिमों ने मण्डली को एक हज़ार बैल और दस हज़ार भेड़ें दीं: और बहुत से याजकों ने अपने को पवित्र किया। 25 और याजकों और लेवियों समेत यहूदा की सारी मण्डली और इस्राएल से आई हुई सारी मण्डली और इस्राएल देश से आए हुए परदेशी जो यहूदा में रहते थे, आनन्दित हुए। 26 और यरूशलेम में बड़ा आनन्द हुआ: क्योंकि इस्राएल के राजा दाऊद के पुत्र सुलैमान के समय से यरूशलेम में ऐसा आनन्द कभी नहीं हुआ था। 27 तब लेवीय याजकों ने उठकर लोगों को आशीर्वाद दिया: और उनकी आवाज़ सुनी गई, और उनकी प्रार्थना उसके पवित्र निवासस्थान तक, यहाँ तक कि स्वर्ग तक पहुँची।
