Proverbs 11 - 12

A false balance is an abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight. When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Proverbs 11

11 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.
2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.
16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.
17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

Proverbs 12

12 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

11 झूठे तराजू से यहोवा घृणा करता है, परन्तु सच्चा बटखरों से वह प्रसन्न होता है।

2 जब अभिमान आता है, तब लज्जा आती है, परन्तु दीन लोगों के पास बुद्धि होती है।

3 धर्मी लोगों की खराई उन्हें मार्ग दिखाती है, परन्तु अपराधियों की कुटिलता उन्हें नाश करती है।

4 क्रोध के दिन धन से लाभ नहीं होता, परन्तु धर्म मृत्यु से बचाता है।

5 सिद्ध लोगों की धार्मिकता उनके मार्ग को सीधा करती है, परन्तु दुष्ट अपनी दुष्टता के कारण गिर जाते हैं।

6 धर्मी लोगों की धार्मिकता उन्हें बचाती है, परन्तु अपराधी अपनी दुष्टता में फँस जाते हैं।

7 जब दुष्ट मरता है, तब उसकी आशा टूट जाती है, और अन्यायी लोगों की आशा टूट जाती है।

8 धर्मी जन संकट से छूट जाता है, परन्तु दुष्ट उसके स्थान पर आता है।

9 कपटी अपने पड़ोसी को अपने मुँह से नाश करता है, परन्तु धर्मी जन ज्ञान के द्वारा छूटता है।

10 जब धर्मी का भला होता है, तो नगर आनन्दित होता है; परन्तु जब दुष्ट नाश होते हैं, तो जयजयकार होता है।

11 धर्मी के आशीर्वाद से नगर की उन्नति होती है, परन्तु दुष्टों के मुंह से वह नाश हो जाता है।

12 जो बुद्धिहीन है, वह अपने पड़ोसी को तुच्छ जानता है, परन्तु समझदार मनुष्य चुप रहता है।

13 जो कानाफूसी करता है, वह भेद प्रगट करता है, परन्तु जो विश्वासयोग्य है, वह बात को छिपाता है।

14 जहां कोई युक्ति नहीं होती, वहां लोग गिर जाते हैं, परन्तु बहुत से मन्त्रियों के पास सुरक्षा होती है।

15 जो परदेशी का उत्तरदायी होता है, वह उसके कारण कष्ट पाता है; और जो उत्तरदायी से घृणा करता है, वह निश्चिन्त रहता है।

16 अनुग्रह करनेवाली स्त्री प्रतिष्ठा बनाए रखती है, और बलवान पुरुष धन बनाए रखते हैं।

17 दयालु मनुष्य अपने ही प्राण का भला करता है, परन्तु जो क्रूर है, वह अपने ही शरीर को कष्ट देता है।

18 दुष्ट लोग छल-कपट करते हैं, परन्तु जो धर्म बोता है, उसे निश्चय फल मिलता है।

19 जैसे धर्म से जीवन मिलता है, वैसे ही जो बुराई का पीछा करता है, वह अपनी मृत्यु का भी पीछा करता है।

20 जो लोग टेढ़े मन के हैं, वे यहोवा के सम्मुख घृणित हैं, परन्तु जो लोग अपने मार्ग में सीधे हैं, उनसे वह प्रसन्न होता है।

21 चाहे वे हाथ मिला लें, तो भी दुष्ट दण्ड से नहीं बचेंगे, परन्तु धर्मी का वंश बच जाएगा।

22 जैसे सूअर की थूथन में सोने का गहना होता है, वैसे ही सुन्दर स्त्री विवेकहीन होती है।

23 धर्मी की इच्छा केवल भलाई की होती है, परन्तु दुष्टों की आशा क्रोध की होती है।

24 कोई ऐसा है जो बिखेरता तो है, परन्तु बढ़ता ही है; और कोई ऐसा है जो उचित से अधिक नहीं देता, परन्तु वह दरिद्रता की ओर ले जाता है।

25 उदार प्राणी हृष्ट-पुष्ट हो जाएगा, और जो सींचता है, वह भी सींचा जाएगा।

26 जो अन्न को रोककर रखता है, लोग उसे शाप देते हैं, परन्तु जो उसे बेचता है, उसके सिर पर आशीर्वाद होता है।

27 जो परिश्रम से भलाई की खोज करता है, वह अनुग्रह पाता है, परन्तु जो बुराई की खोज करता है, वह उसके पास ही आती है।

28 जो अपने धन पर भरोसा रखता है, वह गिर जाता है; परन्तु धर्मी लोग शाखा की नाईं फूलते हैं।

29 जो अपने घराने को दु:ख देता है, वह वायु का अधिकारी होगा; और मूर्ख बुद्धिमान का दास होगा।

30 धर्मी का फल जीवन का वृक्ष है; और जो मन को जीत लेता है, वह बुद्धिमान है।

31 देखो, धर्मी को पृथ्वी पर प्रतिफल मिलेगा, परन्तु दुष्टों और पापियों को तो और भी अधिक।

12 जो शिक्षा से प्रेम रखता है, वह ज्ञान से प्रेम रखता है, परन्तु जो डांट से घृणा करता है, वह पशु है।

2 भला मनुष्य यहोवा का अनुग्रह पाता है, परन्तु दुष्ट युक्ति करनेवाले को वह दोषी ठहराता है।

3 दुष्टता से मनुष्य स्थिर नहीं होता, परन्तु धर्मी की जड़ कभी नहीं डगमगाती।

4 भली स्त्री अपने पति के लिये मुकुट है, परन्तु जो लज्जित करती है, वह उसकी हड्डियों में सड़न के समान है।

5 धर्मी के विचार तो ठीक होते हैं, परन्तु दुष्टों की युक्ति छल की होती है।

6 दुष्टों के वचन खून की घात में रहते हैं, परन्तु धर्मी के मुंह के वचन उन्हें छुड़ाते हैं।

7 दुष्ट लोग उलट दिए जाते हैं, परन्तु फिर नहीं रहते; परन्तु धर्मी का घराना स्थिर रहता है।

8 मनुष्य की बुद्धि के अनुसार प्रशंसा की जाती है, परन्तु कुटिल मनवाला तुच्छ जाना जाता है।

9 जो तुच्छ जाना जाता है और जिसके पास दास है, वह उस से उत्तम है जो अपना आदर करता है, और जिसे रोटी की कमी रहती है।

10 धर्मी मनुष्य अपने पशु के प्राण की चिंता करता है, परन्तु दुष्टों की दया क्रूर होती है।

11 जो अपनी भूमि जोतता है, वह रोटी से तृप्त होता है, परन्तु जो व्यर्थ लोगों के पीछे चलता है, वह नासमझ होता है।

12 दुष्ट बुरे लोगों के जाल की अभिलाषा करता है, परन्तु धर्मी की जड़ फल देती है।

13 दुष्ट अपने होठों के अपराध से फँसता है, परन्तु धर्मी विपत्ति से निकल आता है।

14 मनुष्य अपने मुँह के फल से भलाई से तृप्त होता है, और मनुष्य के कामों का फल उसे मिलता है।

15 मूर्ख का मार्ग उसकी अपनी दृष्टि में सीधा है, परन्तु जो सम्मति मानता है, वह बुद्धिमान है।

16 मूर्ख का क्रोध तुरन्त प्रगट हो जाता है, परन्तु बुद्धिमान मनुष्य लज्जा को ढाँप लेता है।

17 जो सच बोलता है, वह धार्मिकता प्रगट करता है, परन्तु झूठा साक्षी छल करता है।

18 ऐसे लोग हैं, जो तलवार के समान बोलते हैं, परन्तु बुद्धिमान की वाणी चंगाई देती है।

19 सत्य का होठ सदा स्थिर रहता है, परन्तु झूठ बोलनेवाला पल भर का होता है।

20 जो लोग बुरी कल्पना करते हैं, उनके हृदय में छल रहता है, परन्तु मेल की युक्ति करनेवालों को आनन्द मिलता है।

21 धर्मी पर कोई विपत्ति नहीं पड़ती, परन्तु दुष्ट लोग दुष्टता से भर जाते हैं।

22 झूठ बोलनेवाले होंठ यहोवा को घृणित हैं, परन्तु जो सच्चाई से काम करते हैं, वे उसके प्रसन्न होते हैं।

23 बुद्धिमान मनुष्य ज्ञान को छिपा रखता है, परन्तु मूर्खों का मन मूर्खता की बातें प्रगट करता है।

24 परिश्रमी का हाथ प्रभुता करेगा, परन्तु आलसी को कर देना पड़ेगा।

25 मनुष्य का मन भारी होता है, परन्तु भला वचन उसे आनन्दित करता है।

26 धर्मी अपने पड़ोसी से श्रेष्ठ है, परन्तु दुष्टों का मार्ग उन्हें बहका देता है।

27 आलसी मनुष्य शिकार में पकड़ी हुई वस्तु को नहीं भूनता, परन्तु परिश्रमी मनुष्य का धन बहुमूल्य होता है।

28 धर्म के मार्ग में जीवन है, और उसके मार्ग में मृत्यु नहीं है।
