Chapter 18

1 I saw the storehouses of all the winds. I saw how He arranged all the supports and the foundation of the earth with them, and I saw the corner stone of the earth. 2 I saw the four winds which support the earth 3and the firmament of heaven. 4 I saw the winds of heaven which turn and direct the course of the sun, and all the stars. 5 I saw the winds over the earth which carry the clouds. I saw the outer edges of the earth, with the supports of the heaven upon them. 6 I proceeded on, and saw a place which burns night and day, where there were seven mountains of precious stones, three towards the east and three lying towards the south. The Book of Enoch the Prophet 22 7And the ones toward the east, one was of colorful stone, one was of pearl, and the other of antimony; those towards the south were carnelians. 8But the middle one which reached up to heaven as the throne of God, was of alabaster,21 and the top of the throne was of sapphire. 9And I saw a blazing fire. Beyond these mountains 10there is a place on the other side of the great extent of the earth; there the heavens come to an end. 11And I saw a deep chasm, with pillars of fire descending, and they were not measurable either in depth or in height. 12And beyond this yawning chasm I saw a place which had no firmament of heaven above it, nor foundation of earth beneath it, nor was there water in it or birds, but it was a desolate and fearsome place. 13I saw there seven stars as great burning mountains, about which when I inquired, 14an angel said to me, 'Until the consummation of heaven and earth, this is the prison for the stars and the powers of heaven. 15And the stars which are rolling over in the fire, these are those who transgressed the command of the Lord at the beginning of their rising— because their place coming out of the heaven is empty— because they did not come out at their proper time. 16And He was angered by them, and He has bound them until the time of the completion of the punishment for their sins, for ten thousand years.
