Job 13

Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it. What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you. Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God. But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value. O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom. Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

3 Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.
4 But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.
5 O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.
6 Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
7 Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?
8 Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?
9 Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?
10 He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.
11 Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?
12 Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.
13 Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.
14 Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?
15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
16 He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
17 Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.
18 Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.
19 Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.
20 Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.
21 Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.
22 Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.
23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.
24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?
25 Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?
26 For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.
27 Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.
28 And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.

Job 14

14 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
3 And doth thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
18 And surely the mountains falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
19 The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.

13 देखो, मेरी आँखों ने यह सब देखा है, मेरे कानों ने सुना है और समझा है।

2 जो तुम जानते हो, वही मैं भी जानता हूँ: मैं तुमसे कम नहीं हूँ।

3 मैं सर्वशक्तिमान से बात करना चाहता हूँ, और मैं परमेश्वर से तर्क करना चाहता हूँ।

4 परन्तु तुम झूठ के जालसाज हो, तुम सब बेकार के चिकित्सक हो।

5 काश तुम बिलकुल चुप रहते! और यह तुम्हारी बुद्धि होती।

6 अब मेरी दलील सुनो, और मेरे होठों की दलीलों पर ध्यान दो।

7 क्या तुम परमेश्वर के लिए दुष्टता से बोलोगे? और उसके लिए छल से बात करोगे?

8 क्या तुम उसका व्यक्तित्व स्वीकार करोगे? क्या तुम परमेश्वर के लिए झगड़ा करोगे?

9 क्या यह अच्छा है कि वह तुम्हें जाँचे? या जैसे एक आदमी दूसरे का मज़ाक उड़ाता है, वैसे ही तुम उसका मज़ाक उड़ाते हो?

10 यदि तुम गुप्त रूप से लोगों को स्वीकार करते हो, तो वह तुम्हें अवश्य डाँटेगा।

11 क्या उसकी महानता तुम्हें भयभीत नहीं करती? और उसका भय तुम पर पड़ेगा?

12 तुम्हारी स्मृतियाँ राख के समान हैं, और तुम्हारे शरीर मिट्टी के समान हैं।

13 चुप रहो, मुझे अकेला छोड़ दो, कि मैं बोलूँ, और जो कुछ हो, उसे मुझ पर आने दो।

14 मैं क्यों अपना मांस अपने दाँतों में लेता, और अपना प्राण अपने हाथ में रखता हूँ?

15 चाहे वह मुझे मार डाले, तौभी मैं उस पर भरोसा रखूँगा, परन्तु उसके साम्हने अपने मार्ग पर चलता रहूँगा।

16 वह मेरा उद्धार भी होगा, क्योंकि कोई पाखण्डी उसके साम्हने न आने पाएगा।

17 मेरी बातें और मेरे वचन अपने कानों से ध्यान से सुनो।

18 देखो, मैं ने अपना मुकद्दमा खड़ा कर दिया है; मैं जानता हूँ कि मैं निर्दोष ठहरूँगा।

19 कौन है जो मुझसे वादविवाद करेगा? क्योंकि अब यदि मैं चुप रहूँगा, तो प्राण त्याग दूँगा।

20 केवल दो काम मेरे साथ मत करो, तब मैं तुझ से न छिपूँगा।

21 अपना हाथ मुझसे दूर कर ले, और अपने भय से मुझे न डरा।

22 तब तू पुकार, और मैं उत्तर दूंगा; वा मुझे बोलने दे, और तू मुझे उत्तर दे।

23 मेरे अधर्म और पाप कितने हैं? मुझे मेरे अपराध और पाप का ज्ञान दे।

24 तू क्यों अपना मुख छिपाता है, और मुझे अपना शत्रु क्यों मानता है?

25 क्या तू इधर-उधर उड़ते हुए पत्ते को तोड़ेगा? और क्या तू सूखी ठूंठ का पीछा करेगा?

26 क्योंकि तू मेरे विरुद्ध कड़वी बातें लिखता है, और मुझे मेरी जवानी के अधर्म का भार देता है।

27 तू मेरे पाँवों को काठ में ठोंकता है, और मेरे सब मार्गों को ध्यान से देखता है; तू मेरे पाँवों की एड़ियों पर छाप लगाता है।

28 और वह सड़ी हुई वस्तु के समान नाश हो जाता है, जैसे कीड़ा खाए हुए वस्त्र के समान।

14 जो पुरुष स्त्री से उत्पन्न होता है, वह थोड़े दिनों का और कष्ट से भरा होता है।

2 वह फूल के समान खिलता है, और फिर कट जाता है; वह छाया के समान भाग जाता है, और टिकता नहीं।

3 और क्या तू ऐसे मनुष्य पर अपनी दृष्टि डालता है, और मुझे अपने साथ न्याय के लिये ले जाता है?

4 कौन अशुद्ध वस्तु से शुद्ध वस्तु निकाल सकता है? कोई नहीं।

5 क्योंकि उसके दिन निश्चित हैं, और उसके महीनों की गिनती तेरे पास है, तू ने उसके लिये सीमाएँ ठहरा दी हैं, जिन्हें वह पार नहीं कर सकता;

6 उससे मुँह फेर ले, कि वह विश्राम करे, और जब तक वह मजदूर के समान अपना दिन पूरा न कर ले।

7 क्योंकि वृक्ष की आशा तो रहती है, कि चाहे वह कट भी जाए, फिर भी वह फिर से उगेगा, और उसकी कोमल शाखाएँ कभी न रुकेंगी।

8 चाहे उसकी जड़ भूमि में पुरानी हो जाए, और उसका तना भूमि में सूख जाए;

9 तौभी जल की सुगंध से वह अंकुरित होकर पौधे के समान शाखाएँ निकालेगा।

10 परन्तु मनुष्य मर जाता है, और क्षीण हो जाता है; हां, मनुष्य प्राण त्याग देता है, और वह कहां रहता है? 11 जैसे समुद्र से पानी सूख जाता है, और बाढ़ थम जाती है और सूख जाती है: 12 वैसे ही मनुष्य लेट जाता है, और उठता नहीं: जब तक आकाश न रहे, तब तक वे न जागेंगे, और न अपनी नींद से उठेंगे। 13 काश! तू मुझे कब्र में छिपा लेता, कि तू मुझे छिपाए रखता, कि जब तक तेरा क्रोध शांत न हो जाए, कि तू मेरे लिए एक निश्चित समय नियुक्त करता, और मुझे स्मरण करता! 14 यदि मनुष्य मर जाए, तो क्या वह फिर जीवित होगा? मैं अपने नियत समय के सभी दिनों तक प्रतीक्षा करूंगा, जब तक मेरा परिवर्तन न आ जाए। 15 तू पुकारेगा, और मैं तुझे उत्तर दूंगा; तू अपने हाथों के काम की अभिलाषा करेगा। 16 क्योंकि अब तू मेरे कदमों को गिनता है: क्या तू मेरे पाप पर निगरानी नहीं रखता? 17 मेरा अपराध एक थैले में बंद है, और तू मेरे अधर्म को सिल देता है।

18 और निश्चय ही पहाड़ गिरकर नष्ट हो जाते हैं, और चट्टान अपने स्थान से हट जाती है।

19 जल पत्थरों को घिस देता है; तू पृथ्वी की धूल से उगने वाली चीज़ों को बहा देता है; और तू मनुष्य की आशा को नष्ट कर देता है।

20 तू उस पर सदा प्रबल रहता है, और वह चला जाता है; तू उसका चेहरा बदल देता है, और उसे भगा देता है।

21 उसके पुत्र सम्मान पाते हैं, और वह इसे नहीं जानता; और वे अपमानित होते हैं, लेकिन वह उन्हें नहीं जानता।

22 परन्तु उसका शरीर उस पर पीड़ा उठाएगा, और उसका प्राण उसके भीतर विलाप करेगा।

दुष्टों का धन धर्मियों के लिए रखा जाएगा

परमेश्‍वर का राज्य

मैं तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा हूँ, जो तुम्हें मिस्र देश से, दासता के घर से निकाल लाया हूँ। मेरे सामने तुम किसी और देवता/मूर्ति को न रखना। तुम अपने लिए कोई खुदी हुई मूर्ति या किसी भी चीज़ की प्रतिमा न बनाना जो ऊपर आकाश में है, या जो नीचे पृथ्वी पर है, या जो पृथ्वी के नीचे के जल में है:

फिर उसने अपने हाथ से दो पत्थर की पट्टियों पर लिखा...

तुम उनके सामने झुकना या घुटने टेकना नहीं, और न ही उनकी सेवा करना: क्योंकि मैं तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा ईर्ष्यालु ईश्वर हूँ, जो मुझसे घृणा करने वालों के बच्चों को तीसरी और चौथी पीढ़ी तक के पितरों के अधर्म का दण्ड देता हूँ,

और जो मुझसे प्रेम करते हैं और मेरी आज्ञाओं को मानते हैं, उन हजारों पर दया करता हूँ।

तुम अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा का नाम व्यर्थ न लेना:

क्योंकि यहोवा तुम्हें निर्दोष नहीं ठहराएगा

यदि तुम उसका नाम व्यर्थ लेते हो।
