Ezekiel 3 - 4

Moreover, he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel. So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

Ezekiel 3

3 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.
12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the Lord from his place.
13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.
14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.
15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
22 And the hand of the Lord was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.
23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the Lord stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
25 But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
26 And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.
27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

Ezekiel 4

4 Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:
2 And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.
3 Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
4 Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.
5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
7 Therefore thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.
8 And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.
9 Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.
10 And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.
11 Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.
12 And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.
13 And the Lord said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.
14 Then said I, Ah Lord God! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.
15 Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.
16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:
17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

4 और उसने मुझसे कहा, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, तू इस्राएल के घराने के पास जा, और मेरे वचन उनको सुना।

5 क्योंकि तू किसी विचित्र बोली और कठिन भाषा वाले लोगों के पास नहीं, परन्तु इस्राएल के घराने के पास भेजा गया है;

6 न कि बहुत से विचित्र बोली और कठिन भाषा वाले लोगों के पास, जिनके वचन तू समझ न सके। निश्चय, यदि मैं तुझे उनके पास भेजता, तो वे तेरी सुनते।

7 परन्तु इस्राएल का घराना तेरी न सुनेगा; क्योंकि वे मेरी बात नहीं सुनते, क्योंकि इस्राएल का सारा घराना निर्लज्ज और कठोर मन का है।

8 देख, मैं ने तेरे मुख को उनके मुखों के साम्हने, और तेरे माथे को उनके माथे के साम्हने दृढ़ किया है।

9 मैं ने तेरे माथे को पत्थर से भी कड़ा कर दिया है; तू उन से मत डर, और न उनके मुंह को देखकर घबरा, चाहे वे बलवा करनेवाले घराने के हों।

10 फिर उसने मुझ से कहा, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, जो वचन मैं तुझ से कहूंगा, उन सब को अपने मन में रख, और कानों से सुन।

11 और जाकर बन्दियों के पास, अर्थात् अपने लोगों के पास जा, और उन से बातें कर, और उन से कह, प्रभु परमेश्वर यों कहता है; चाहे वे सुनें, वा न मानें।

12 तब आत्मा ने मुझे उठा लिया, और मैं ने अपने पीछे से एक बड़ी गरजती हुई आवाज सुनी, जो कह रही थी, कि यहोवा की महिमा उसके स्थान से धन्य है।

13 मैंने उन जीवधारियों के पंखों की ध्वनि भी सुनी जो एक दूसरे से छू रहे थे, और उनके सामने पहियों की ध्वनि, और एक बड़ी घमासान ध्वनि।
14 तब आत्मा ने मुझे उठाया, और ले गया, और मैं अपनी आत्मा की गर्मी में, दु:ख में चला गया; परन्तु यहोवा का हाथ मुझ पर प्रबल था।
15 तब मैं तेलाबीब में बन्धुओं के पास पहुंचा, जो कबार नदी के किनारे रहते थे, और जहां वे बैठे थे, वहां मैं भी बैठ गया, और उनके बीच सात दिन तक अचम्भित होकर रहा।
16 और सात दिन के अन्त में यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,
17 हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, मैं ने तुझे इस्राएल के घराने के लिये पहरेदार नियुक्त किया है; इसलिये मेरे मुंह से वचन सुन, और उन्हें मेरी ओर से चेतावनी दे।
18 जब मैं दुष्टों से कहूं, कि तू निश्चय मर जाएगा; और तू उसको न चिताए, और न दुष्ट को उसके दुष्ट मार्ग से चिताकर उसके प्राण को बचाए; वही दुष्ट अपने अधर्म में फंसा हुआ मरेगा; परन्तु उसके खून का लेखा मैं तुझ से लूंगा।
19 तौभी यदि तू दुष्ट को चिताए, और वह अपनी दुष्टता वा अपने दुष्ट मार्ग से न फिरे, तो वह अपने अधर्म में फंसा हुआ मरेगा; परन्तु तू ने अपने प्राण को बचाया है।
20 फिर जब धर्मी मनुष्य अपने धर्म से फिरकर कुटिलता करने लगे, और मैं उसके साम्हने ठोकर रखूं, तो वह मरेगा; क्योंकि तू ने उसे चिताया नहीं, इस कारण वह अपने पाप में फंसा हुआ मरेगा, और उसके धर्म के काम जो उसने किए हों स्मरण न किए जाएंगे; परन्तु उसके खून का लेखा मैं तुझ से लूंगा।
21 तौभी यदि तू धर्मी को चिताए, कि धर्मी पाप न करे, और वह पाप न करे, तो वह चिताए जाने के कारण निश्चय जीवित रहेगा; तूने अपने प्राण भी बचाए हैं।

22 और प्रभु का हाथ मुझ पर था; और उसने मुझसे कहा, उठ, मैदान में जा, और मैं वहाँ तुझ से बातें करूँगा।

23 तब मैं उठकर मैदान में गया: और, देखो, प्रभु की महिमा वहाँ खड़ी थी, जैसी महिमा मैंने कबार नदी के किनारे देखी थी: और मैं अपने मुँह के बल गिर पड़ा।

24 तब आत्मा मेरे अंदर समा गई, और मुझे मेरे पैरों के बल खड़ा किया, और मुझसे बातें की, और मुझसे कहा, जा, अपने घर के भीतर बन्द रह।

25 परन्तु हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, देख, वे तुझे बाँधकर अपने से बाँधेंगे, और तू उनके बीच बाहर न जा सकेगा।

26 और मैं तेरी जीभ को तेरे तालू से चिपका दूँगा, कि तू गूँगा हो जाए, और उनका डाँटनेवाला न हो; क्योंकि वे बलवा करनेवाले घराने के हैं।

27 परन्तु जब जब मैं तुझ से बातें करूंगा, तब तब तेरे मुंह को खोलूंगा, और तू उन से कहना, परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, जो सुनता है, वह सुन ले; जो नहीं सुनता, वह नहीं सुनता; क्योंकि वे बलवा करने वाले घराने के हैं।

4 हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, तू भी एक पाट ले, और उसे अपने सामने रख, और उस पर यरूशलेम नगर का चित्र बना।
2 और उसके विरुद्ध घेरा डाल, और उसके विरुद्ध किला बना, और उसके विरुद्ध पहाड़ बना; और उसके विरुद्ध छावनी खड़ी कर, और उसके चारों ओर युद्ध के हथियार रख।
3 और तू एक लोहे की तवा ले, और उसे अपने और नगर के बीच लोहे की दीवार के रूप में खड़ा कर; और अपना मुख उसके विरुद्ध कर, और वह घेरा जाएगा, और तू उसके विरुद्ध घेरा डालना। यह इस्राएल के घराने के लिए एक चिन्ह होगा।
4 तू भी अपने बाएं करवट लेट जा, और इस्राएल के घराने के अधर्म को उस पर डाल दे; जितने दिन तू उस पर लेटा रहेगा, उतने दिन तक उनके अधर्म का भार तू उठाएगा।
5 क्योंकि मैंने उनके अधर्म के वर्षों को तेरे ऊपर निर्धारित किया है, अर्थात् तीन सौ नब्बे दिन; इस प्रकार तू इस्राएल के घराने के अधर्म का भार सहेगा।
6 और जब तू उन्हें पूरा कर ले, तो अपने दाहिने पाँव पर लेट जा, और चालीस दिन तक यहूदा के घराने के अधर्म का भार सहेगा; मैंने तेरे लिए एक वर्ष के लिए एक दिन नियुक्त किया है।
7 इसलिए तू यरूशलेम की घेराबंदी की ओर अपना मुख कर, और अपनी भुजा उघाड़े हुए उसके विरुद्ध भविष्यवाणी कर।
8 और देख, मैं तुझ पर बंधन बाँधूँगा, और जब तक तेरी घेराबंदी के दिन पूरे न हो जाएँ, तब तक तू एक ओर से दूसरी ओर नहीं मुड़ेगा।
9 तू गेहूँ, जौ, सेम, मसूर, बाजरा और सौंफ ले, और उन्हें एक बर्तन में रख, और जितने दिन तू करवट के बल लेटा रहेगा, उसके अनुसार उसकी रोटी बनाना, अर्थात् तीन सौ नब्बे दिन तक तू उसे खाना।

10 और जो भोजन तू खाएगा, वह तौलकर खाएगा, अर्थात् प्रतिदिन बीस शेकेल; समय-समय पर उसे खाना।

11 तू पानी भी मापकर पीना, अर्थात् हिन का छठा भाग; समय-समय पर पीना।

12 और तू उसे जौ के रोटियों की नाईं खाना, और उसे मनुष्य के गोबर से उनके देखते पकाना।

13 और यहोवा ने कहा, इसी प्रकार इस्राएल के बच्चे अन्यजातियों के बीच अपनी अशुद्ध रोटी खाएँगे, जहाँ मैं उन्हें भगा दूँगा।

14 तब मैंने कहा, हे प्रभु परमेश्वर! देख, मेरा मन अशुद्ध नहीं हुआ; क्योंकि बचपन से लेकर अब तक मैंने न तो अपने आप मरनेवाले वा फाड़े हुए पशु का मांस खाया है, और न कभी घिनौना मांस अपने मुंह में लिया है।

15 तब उसने मुझ से कहा, देख, मैं तुझे मनुष्य के गोबर के बदले गाय का गोबर देता हूं, और तू उसी से अपनी रोटी तैयार करना।

16 फिर उसने मुझ से कहा, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, देख, मैं यरूशलेम में रोटी की छड़ी को तोड़ दूंगा; और वे तौल तौलकर और चिन्ता करके रोटी खाएंगे; और वे माप तौलकर और विस्मित होकर पानी पीएंगे:

17 कि उन्हें रोटी और पानी की घटी हो, और वे एक दूसरे के साथ विस्मित हों, और अपने अधर्म के कारण तृप्त हो जाएं।
